Open marriage because of a dead bedroom

Has this worked for anybody? We haven't had sex in about 3 years. Although we have many other marriage issues, it's all amplified because of the lack of sex.

My wife is fine if I have sex with other women. To test this, I went out with a few friends with my wife's knowledge and didn't come home until morning. I did text my wife to let her know to not expect me home. Mostly to let her know I was in a safe place. All she asked me was if I had a good time. I'm not sure if she thought I got laid or not.

She wants to stay married at least until our daughter graduates in 5 years. Financialy, it makes sense. I haven't put myself out there all that much, but I have developed many women friends, some could be pAP's. My wife seems like she would be ok with it as long as we stay married.

My main question is could it work out or when the time comes and a woman shows romantic interest, is that the beginning of the end?
