Buying Laptop for programming and development, United States, ~$800-$1500** budget, 15" screen.
-
Total budget and country of purchase: Somewhere in the $1000-$1500 range. United States.

Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Will be using for programming and development, so prefer good hardware specs and a SSD to boot.
-
How important is weight and thinness to you? Moderate to High
-
Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows and/or Mac. There could be reasons / needs for both potentially.
-
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Prefer 15" for the mix of size and portability.
-
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Most likely not, but there might be some need for CAD applications. A dedicated graphics card would be ideal.
-
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? N/A
-
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Would like a dedicated graphics card as well as a medium-large SSD on board.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
Will mainly be using the computer for programming / development environments and projects. Would like to have a upper-end CPU, dedicated graphics card, and a SSD. I need Windows in the short-term, but the need for the Mac OS could come up sooner than later, so a Mac with the specs needed to have a partition for dual boot capabilities or a virtual machine to run Windows under might be necessary. If at all possible I'd like to look in the $800-$1000 range if it's just a Windows machine, however if I need to up the limit to around $1500+ for a Mac that can do everything I understand that. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!
