Feeling impatient with WoT book 1. [SPOILERS EOTW]
I'm having issues getting into the Wheel of Time.
From the start, the opening just felt too overly dramatic for me. I told myself to stop being so critical and to try to enjoy it. I ended up enjoying certain parts and thought, OK, I can do this.
However, now that I'm about half-way, I'm feeling super irritated with the majority of the characters.
The characters are very one-dimensional. Spoiler
I don't mind Perrin/Moiraine/Lan, though they're quite one-dimensional as well...
To add, Spoiler
So, can anyone give me encouragement to finish? Discouragement to finish? Am I wasting my time? Or will I be doing myself a disservice by not completing at least the first book?
A lot of people seem to enjoy the series...I'm so sorry if I've offended you, I'm really trying my best.
I'm a HUGE fan of Robin Hobb/GRRM/James Clavell.
Should I be reading something else? I'm more into well-rounded characters who struggle and have more relatable characteristics, rather than the razzle-dazzle of overpowered special dopey characters and magic.
