Team mode suggestion
I've always had the idea of making a team mode for Hearthstone, and now that I'm playing Gwent I think Gwent could benefit a lot from a tag-team mode/ladder as well.
My idea is this: Make a team based ladder for 2/3 people, where you can queue up with a friend or two, and play against other teams of 2/3 people in a best of 3 matchup.
Rules:
-
If playing with 3 players, have each person pick one deck, if playing with 2 players, each player picks 2 decks and the third game, should it be needed, will be randomly chosen between the last two decks.
-
All decks must be from different factions.
I've wanted something like this for a long time and all my friends are very excited about this idea as well. Of course this mode wouldn't be possible until spectator mode comes out, but it's something to think about for the long term.
Pros:
Exciting for players who want to play with friends, shakes up/creates a different meta with the use of multiple decks from multiple factions.
Cons:
Splits up the player base, requires spectator mode, cuts into playtime by having to watch your friends play, each match might take a long time having to play 3 games.
I think the cons aren't so bad, spectator mode will come out sooner or later, and as the player base grows splitting it up won't be too big of an issue either. Some players might not like cutting into their own play time by watching their friends, but I think a lot of people might be like me and would love to be on discord discussing plays and whatnot while they're playing.
Anyway I think this could be a very interesting mode to consider when the game is fully released with a spectator mode, and gains a player number boost from being released on steam. What do you guys think?
