TIFU by grabbing a hot curling iron.
I've been traveling in Paris with my girlfriend for a few days now. We are staying at a hotel, and have to share a bathroom.
Every morning before I go out, I shower (duh), and afterwards I dry my hair with a blow dryer. My girlfriend uses a curling iron, which is placed away from the sink along with the blow dryer.
You can probably already see where this goes from here.
After my shower, I prepare to dry my hair. Unbeknownst to me, my girlfriend has been heating her curling iron for 5 or so minutes. So when I carelessly reach for the blow dryer, I mistakenly clench a searing hot curling iron instead.
I know it sounds foolish, but it's true. My entire right hand is severely blistered, but we've bought aloe vera to try to reduce inflammation. I currently am typing this with my left hand (haha), but am fine otherwise.
TL;DR: Accidentally mistook a hot curling iron for a hair dryer and blistered my entire right hand.
