I think I picked a bad lender for pre approval and now I feel trapped
We wanted to put an offer in on in a home in Thurston County (WA) and asked our realtor to recommend someone. (Which was a mistake considering the realtor was a mistake)
We didn't shop around but I did look at what the rates are. We got pre-approved at 4.39%APR (4.25% rate) on a 30 year conventional loan with 20% down which seems crazy high considering our credit scores were 810, 796, 799 and 745, 755, 747. I want to find another lender and will this time get quotes first but am worried a second pre-approval will hurt our score and am finding conflicting information. The second concern is if we don't get a home within 90 days and having to run it again. We don't need to move until summer so we're not just going to leap on a place out of desperation.
We're new to buying and so far it's been a nightmare and we haven't even put in an offer on a home...
Edit: Included rate terms and down payment.
