Discussion: about lead female protagonists; I heard that it's not usual for graphic novels to be very popular with female protagonists...

I know a lot of you may disagree and I would too as I enjoy many graphic novels with lead female protagonists.

However, I'm wondering why you think they aren't as popular as other superhero graphic novels?

I mean, I'm working on a graphic novel with a lead female protagonist, what makes me dislike many novels is if a female is just too overpowering: she can fight, is very intelligent and beautiful but that seems boring to me if she doesn't have a fault.

What makes a lead female for you in a ,say, fantasy graphic novel?
