When and how did you discover emulation?
I remember I had a fairly unique experience myself since it was discovered through the PSP rather than a computer. I was about 10 in 2005, the PSP had just been released and my uncle had gotten it around launch. He only had a handful of UMD games but as the months went on he started doing really interesting things with his PSP. He had an NES emulator that could play Mario, Zelda, etc. on a Sony console! It blew my mind and I had no idea what was going on with the CFW scene at the time.
What really got me interested in emulation forever though, was the DaedalusX64 emulator that could play Super Mario 64. Yeah it was slow, but the fact that a 3D console like the N64 could be played on a handheld like that at-all was absolutely incredible.
Later-on I stumbled upon PCSX (the original version, before PCSX-R) on my dad's laptop and played through Bugs Bunny Lost in Time and Final Fantasy IX, two games I loved when I was a kid and had long since lost the discs for. Since then I've been thoroughly obsessed and impressed with emulation. What was your first experience with emulators?
