Dave Castro deserves a lot of love and respect. Here's why...
I really do not understand the hatred that Dave gets, and I want to explain a few reasons why we should get behind him more, as individuals and as a community.

He is genuinely liked by the athletes. This comes across in all of the documentaries, instagrams and videos. Of course he isn't Jesus, and yeah he screws up and says or does the wrong thing. But when those athletes get a congrats from Dave, you can tell how much it means to them. I bet he makes tonnes of errors and maybe says stuff he regrets, but don't we all? Especially when you consider point 2...

Try organising anything. Hell, try organising just 100 trained, competitive as hell adults to do 1 timed sprint and the winner gets a gift card. You will hit multiple, rage-quit inducing obstacles, quickly. Now try multiplying that experience by 100 and see how quickly you keep your emotions in check as much as he does. In front of an audience. Broadcast live. Changing every year. Good luck.

He puts himself out there for the community. I love his amrap of mu's video. He shows himself to be a completely average athlete with a lot of years of dedication for the world to see. I won't even attach my photo to this account! That takes guts to put yourself out there for all these commenters and detractors to have a go at you.
There are a lot of other reasons, I really hope others add to this. Of course he makes mistakes and does stupid stuff. But look how far the games have come in 10 years, with a truckload of hard work from him. It is insane!
There's more than enough hate out there at the moment. This guy is working hard and providing content for me to enjoy for free.
Next time you are in the U.K. Dave, I'll buy you a beer.
