Deciding on a narration style
Hello all! I recently got back into wanting to write books after a couple years. Not long after I got interest in a book idea I had an odd dream where I was writing a book about an event that was occurring within the same dream. I have been unable to get the events of the dream out of my mind, and after several days of thinking I decided to write the book based off of it.
It will be a contagion book (but not zombies!) but I cannot decide on the narration style. I only say this because in the dream the POV kept shifting from one person to the other. The first person was the witness to the first sign of the outbreak, then it switched to a responder, and so on. It then shifted back around in full circle to the original witness who had become infected.
The problem is I don't personally enjoy reading books with no actual characters and just constantly changing POVs.
My other idea would be to stick to the original character and continue the story through her POV until the end where she is infected.
I'm trying not to reveal too much about the story but if you need more information to consider this, just let me know.
So basically:
POV in which no characters main but it switches from one person to another, all the way up, and then returns back down the line to showcase how things have gone on.
POV that has a main character who watches what is going on from an ordinary person's perspective but eventually gets infected because of her closeness to the origin of the containment.
POV that's somewhere in between?
Other?
