It's time to make the production of animal products illegal. Who's with me?

Activism

As vegans, our best hope might be to just start campaign to make slaughterhouses and dairies illegal. Abolition of slavery wasn't a result of boycotting cotton and other products produced by slaves, it was the result of a political campaign to make slavery illegal. It's time we put that thinking into the vegan movement. Instead of waiting for cultured meat to take over, we should simply take hold of the industry and the government, and make veganism a popular political movement. Eating meat, at the moment, is something that we can tie to massive and unethical corporate wealth and power. Given the public opinion on these corporations (and their connection to the massively unpopular Trump administration), this is hugely advantageous to vegans. By drawing links between animal agriculture and the environment, we can capitalize on the growing energy to do something about climate change. We need slogans, logos, and a catchy brand identity that can be reproduced instantly. We need an official organization with scheduled protests and commercials on YouTube and every network. We need to put a villainous face on the meat, dairy and egg industry. Want meat? Wait a decade or two for cultured animal products. When it comes to ending the destruction of sentient beings, the ends justify the means, even if it means being pushy as hell. Let's get started!
