Advice for long road trips with cats

Advice

Good afternoon fellow cat people,

I am moving from LA to Dallas next week (driving). I'm really worried about how my cats are going to do on this trip and would really appreciate any tips you might have.

I have 2 cats, mother and son, 1 and 2 years old. I've had them for about 6 months now. I believe they were abused in the past because they are both extremely skittish. Mom less so, she's actually very social but when she's even slightly startled she'll immediately sprint away. The baby is terrified of humans (except for me). He will even run away from me sometimes if I make a sudden movement. I have never attempted to transport them anywhere.

I have "Rescue Remedy" drops (which I used with my last cat) and I've tried it with these 2 but I can't tell if it helps. I also purchased anti-anxiety hemp oil. Tried it yesterday as a test but the cats HATED it and won't eat it again.

Does anyone have tips? This drive is going to be 20 hours and I will probably have to split it up between 3 days. I'm really nervous.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions
