Looking for PC Audio help please

So I've just put together my new build;

Ryzen 1600 @ 3.8ghz MSI Mortar Arctic Mobo 16gb 3200mhz ram EVGA GTX 1050Ti Superclocked

I need some help with some audio questions. I currently use mt Turtle Beach XO Seven Pros connected via my Xbox Elite Controller using the wireless adapter. I love the sound, the comfort and the features of the seven pros but i have started to think about other audio solutions that dont require me to power on the controller to use the functions, so my questions, please help;

1. Should i look at using the MoBo audio outlets for best sound or is USB ok?

2. I have been offered a controller box from a pair of Hyper X Cloud II's, will these work with my headphones through the 3.5mm jack?

3. Features that i would like to keep are - mic monitoring (if Poss, although not essential), the ability to mute my mic via the headset or control box, audio clarity similar or better to the superhuman hearing on the TB's which improves hearing footsteps etc in FPShooters etc.

Any recommendations or help in understanding the best audio configuration would be very gratefully received.
