Techniques for skating on blunt skates?

Hi everyone 👋 I started skating around 4 months ago and I love it. I bought a pair of skates off Craigslist that, while they were from the 90s, were in amazing condition and had a $700 value when I bought them (for $75). However due to weight limits on luggage I had to leave them in storage in college. I am trying to skate at my home rink, but the rental skates (old Riedells) are super blunt to the point where I slip and fall if I try to skate on the outside edge. Does anyone have tips for continuing to learn with good technique on blunt skates? I am at Basic level 4/5 with some other ice dancing experience. Thanks!!

edit: I followed everyones advice and paid for some rentals to be sharpened!! It made a huge difference :) thanks guys!
