When it rains it pours...

I have been thinking of building an UDS for a while. I mentioned it to my girlfriend and told her I'd need to locate a quality barrel. She said that they had new barrels at her work that they didn't need. I went right over and left with a 55 gal and a 30 gal drum.

I've now been working on the 30 gal one on and off for a couple of weeks. I scoured CL for a Weber 18.5 kettle for parts. Ended up getting 2 for $20. I used one for parts and have a complete one left in good shape.

Did the burn to get the paint off the 30 gal drum the other day. Headed to Wal Mart today to get high heat paint. While I was there I took a stroll through the grill section.

Walked out with a Char Griller Akorn Kamado 16620 for $68. New in box. Originally $288.

So in a few weeks I've gone from a Masterbuilt electric smoker and my propane grill to the Masterbuilt, propane grill, Weber kettle, UDS, and Akorn! I need to buy more meat!!!
