I'm new to Tai Chi - please share your thoughts with me

Hi all. I've been low key interested in Tai Chi for 4 years now and just had my first classes last week. :)

What appeals to me about Tai Chi is the experience of being able to slow down and move gently. I see it as a beautiful art form and an exercise; being able to balance, move, and flow.

Obviously I am a beginner, so I don't exactly have the flow part, but I still have experienced small moments of meditative like movement while practicing. I am inspired by the simplicities and complexities of it all.

Anyway, I am taking classes through the YMCA. There is a Wednesday class and a Thursday class and they teach different styles.

My question is for anyone with more experience than me. Is it alright to attend both classes and practice different styles or should I stick to one?

I haven't yet developed a preference for either style as I haven't noticed a strong difference.

I invite you to share your opinions about the different styles. Is it something you identify with or concern yourself about? Maybe, not really? Who cares?

Also just generally curious about everyones experience with Tai Chi. What got you interested? Why do you practice? What do you like about it? What do you find challenging? General advice?
