Unlocking bootloader

Hey everyone,

I purchased a carrier unlocked moto x pure from Amazon last year and recently decided to unlock the bootloader. However, Motorola tells me my device isn't eligible. I have it activated on cricket, but I was under the impression it was only cricket branded phones that couldn't be unlocked. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this?
