Total newbie to LoA, and no idea where to start.

I suppose I should preface this: I have some experience with LoA, but it was twisted and perverted to turn it into a cult-like tool for a less than honest company. So, no good experiences with it. What's more, I have clinical depression and anxiety, come from a poor family, and haven't escaped that cycle, so from what I have read it kinda sounds like I'm starting from a challenging starting point.

As the title says, I really have no idea where to start. I have read the linked to threads in the community info, and googled but everything in google seems to be trying to sell me something, which always makes me weary.
