Any existing relevant medical issues (if any): I have a history of random episodes of vertigo that goes away after 1 day.
-
Current medications (if any): Recently started taking melatonin at night to help make a healthy sleep schedule.
From May 10 - June 10 I traveled abroad to Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, & Italy. During this trip my sleep schedule was extremely off, usually only getting about 6-7 hours of sleep per night on average, but never consistently fell asleep at the same time (I function best at 8+ hours of sleep). When I got back to the U.S., I of course needed to recover. In Europe I felt just fine. However, I am still recovering to this day, with each day not getting better (August 17th). Between July 6 - August 4 I worked at a summer camp and experienced intense vertigo and lethargy. I've had vertigo in the past, but never to that extreme. I've worked at this summer camp for 4 years now, and never had to struggle with this. I got blood work done and nothing came up except I scored a 139 blood-glucose level (however, I had just eaten lunch about 30 minutes before giving blood, so the camp nurses said there wasn't a problem). Being alert and active during the day is very hard, because I am constantly tired. The intense feeling of vertigo have done away, but I do still feel slight moments of dizziness when I move my head around quickly. Sometimes people will be talking to me and I won't totally register what they're saying, or I'll be so tired or unalert that it'll take me a second to understand what they're saying. I feel like I either have some sort of sleeping disorder (before the melatonin I was sleeping very irregularly), or a very bad case of vertigo (however, I was feeling lethargic long before the intense episodes of vertigo). Feel free to ask any additional questions that may help me figure out the problem, I want to feel like myself again.
