It'll Be Better If Marco, Star, and Jackie Talk Things Out Together

The love triangle effects all of them, so they have to decide on what to do next together. I imagine, if they decide to go that route, it'll go something like this:

When Marco and Star return to Earth, an upset Jackie confronts Marco, and he tells her what happened on Mewni. Jackie, while she understands, is still upset about her boyfriend leaving without telling her anything.

Jackie then ask Star why she never told Marco about her crush on him. Star, feeling guilty, apologizes, saying she never wanted this to happen and she was scared it'll ruin her friendship with Marco and him rejecting her feelings.

Marco cuts in, saying that he never rejected her. Jackie and Star look up at him in shock, and Marco explains that he doesn't accept her feelings either. While he cares about the girls very much, he's confused about his feelings and he needs time to think.

Jackie suggests putting their relationship on hold (not breaking up) in order for Marco to have a chance at thinking about his feelings, but Star disagrees, saying that she and Marco are happy together.

However, Marco agrees with Jackie and tells Star that he doesn't want to hurt her and Jackie. After the talk, Jackie leaves Marco's house, and the episode ends with her riding her skateboard back home with tears in her eyes.

Or it could go like this.

Marco returns to Earth alone and is confronted by an upset Jackie. Basically the same thing happens, but without Star and Marco tries to make it up to Jackie for hurting her. However, there's tension in their relationship. After a particularly bad date, Marco, Star, and Jackie finally talk things out.
