I wanted to post about why ive been a bit absent lately as a mod.

Money & Work

I came on as a mod here when we had only 2k subs and have always been very active in the discussions here. The last few months Ive been a bit absent and wanted to share why.

Some of my last active posts were about my new van build. I actually finished it for the most part, I just didnt make a topic on it, because it still needs some finishing touches.

After finishing the new van, I was looking at spending the next 6 to 8 months working to build back my bank account due to staying in FL the previous 7 months and not working while building the new rig. . Thinking about the prospect of going back to doing some random temp work while doing my ebay on the side and sitting stationary for the job I was feeling a bit burnt out so on a whim I did a application for a large over the road trucking company..

Well here I sit in Portland, OR. I started my training mid July and I now have my CDL class A and have been doing my OTR training as a team driver. I have about 2 months of over the road training left until I get my own truck.

I decided to go this route because I commit one year to the company I went to, I get my CDL and make much more than working some crappy temp job. I basically going to van life in the truck and save, save, save for the next year then decide if I want to continue or go back to my van with my ebay biz.

Anyway, I just wanted to post why Ive been a absent mod as of late. Ive still been doing mod stuff in the background but haven't had the time to be active in the discussions like I used to be. Now that Ive gone through the early stages of my training I'll start having more time to hang around the sub.

Also in no way have I given up van life, my van is sitting back at my dads place and the big rig is now my big full time van for the next year.

Edit.. well heck its also my cake day,, that wasnt planned..
