Tropical storms next week in Carribean. Where's a good place for information?

I'm watching these storms developing right over our ports on the days we'll be there.

1. since I know Carnival won't say a word until it's too late to do anything, what's a good way to monitor besides just watching satellites on NOAA?

2. has anyone been on a ship bear or in a hurricane?

3. I'm I stupid for still going?
