How important is it to know c?

Basically the topic lol. I just started cs50 as my intro to cs and programming, and i got to the c stuff and I don't get c at all. Is c something im ever going to need? Im planning on going into web and game design. Ps going to school right now isnt an option between old student loan debts my minimum wage job and raising my children but ive wanted this my whole life and am forcing my way in basically.
