Job Offer and Moving to Toronto

I am pending a written offer to relocate from the US to Toronto for work. I have been told tech wages are significantly lower than in the US and have seen many articles on r/Toronto about this.

I will be working in downtown Toronto and am looking to move nearby for at least the first year so that I can get use to the city and see what it has to offer. The initial phone conversations I have had with the recruiter mentioned the salary being around 75k CAD a year with this is mind I have a few questions.

1. What does 75k CAD look like typically after taxes as Toronto has a higher tax rate then where I am from?
2. I am having troubles finding a reliable site to find apartments and don't know the first thing about what neighborhood to look at or avoid.
3. What should I expect to pay for a 1bd + den in the area? I have been seeing rental pricing all over the place.
4. My SO will be moving with me and would have to find a job after moving. How hard is it for an American to find a job in Toronto?
