Pilot returning to game after 2-3 years of being MIA. What should I know/what can I read up on before jumping in?

As the title says, I haven't played MW:O since right around when they launched the initial clan invasion and world map. I believe the last mech release I saw was the King Crab.

I'm sure a ton has changed and I'm not sure where to start. If any of you kind mercs could point me in the right direction - it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I play with a throttle, pedals, mouse and TrackIR - let me know if anyone else does the same and if anything has changed regarding joysticks.

Lastly, I noticed the subreddits OutreachHPG and MWO are still separate - I assume the communities are still divided there?
