Out of a list of 37 countries surveyed by the Pew Research Center, 22 said they trusted Russian President Vladimir Putin to do the right thing on matters of world affairs more than they trusted the U.S. president.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 78%. (I'm a bot)

"One of the things we focused on this year was the comparison between Trump and Putin and even though Putin does not rank well, he is better than Trump in most of the nations we surveyed," says Margaret Vice, senior researcher for Pew's Spring 2017 Global Attitudes Survey.

Who else picks Putin over Trump? Vietnam, by a difference of 79% to 58%. Germany! The Germans, who spent years fighting the Russians, are no fans of Putin.

Some 27% prefer Putin over Trump at 17%. Sad. Colombia, a friendly country to the United States, prefers Putin too with 23% trusting the Russian spear-fisherman over Trump, who ranks at 15%. In fact, not a single Latin American country surveyed picked Trump over Putin, though the margins were smaller.

Traditional Anglosphere nations trust Trump over Putin, but by surprisingly tiny margins.

Across the pond, 22% trust Trump more than the 19% that trust Putin in the U.K. The three countries that trust Trump most are Philippines, Israel and Nigeria.

Confidence in Putin over Trump in Europe is a feat unto its own, given many years of Russia disdain in the Soviet Union days.
