New and dumb to Bitcoin and need some insight re: forking.

I bought about $100 of Bitcoin when it was at $4100 = 1BTC. I am waiting for Coinbase to approve and finish the transfer which could take another few days. I sort of understand this SegWit stuff but should I immediately move off Coinbase once I get them? Sorry if the question makes no sense.
