Canada, <=$2000 (inc. tax), durability/gaming/portable

Valid Form
  • Total budget and country of purchase: Up to $2000 CAD, Canada

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Good battery life and best specifications.

  • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important, looking for something that is quite portable, good for everyday use/commuting

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Good with either Windows or Mac.

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13/13.3 inch, but not a major issue.

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Gaming - mostly Steam games (Skyrim, Civ V/VI, Bioshock, Shadow of Mordor, etc.)

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? See above - highest FPS possible

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Reliable build, USB-C charging capability, decent/good keyboard. No need for touch screen, finger print, optical drive, etc.

  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Work is giving me up to $2000 including tax for a new laptop. Just finishing school, and so I'd like something that performs well for its money when gaming. Ideally I'd like to get something quite portable and not too bulky. I've been looking at the ASUS ZenBook 13.3" Full-HD Grey Laptop, Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD with Windows 10 (UX330UA-DS74), as well as the Dell XPS 13, but I also just started looking.

Also I would much prefer a SSD to a HD! 250gb and up is what I'm looking for :)

Thank you all so much!!!
