Need help installing software from github

Open | macOS

TL;DR: Don't know how to install a keylogger (non malicious) from github, need instructions.

For a long time now I've been trying to get a keylogger^1 for my macbook but free keyloggers that run discretely in the background but can be found as applications are impossible to come by.

I made a reddit post asking about it and someone recommended github, so I went there and found at least a couple of keyloggers I'd like to try out but I can't make it work.

Now, I know what Terminal is and I've used it before to write scripts and other stuff, but I was following very detailed instructions. Unfortunately for me, on the github page the how to install isn't very detailed and I can't comprehend it, I've given it a couple of tries but with no success.

So, could anyone please give me more detailed instructions that explain what to do exactly?

I'm running OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.

1.^To avoid losing work on unsaved documents, or comments I typed, then deleted, then wanted to post again, web forms... etc. It's a keylogger for myself, not for malicious intents; it doesn't have to work with passwords or send emails about user activity.
