Quality loss when importing & bouncing a song

Heeeey guys, here's a question I've had for a while now! Hopefully you can help me.... I work in Logic.

So when I want to make a DJ edit of a song (import it into logic, make changes/cut things up, bounce it to wav/mp3) I get a quality loss from doing this. The volume is lower and I'm losing the 'depth' of the original file. How can I NOT make this happen?
