How is the general knowledge of drafting so extremely bad in a game where draft is so important to the outcome?
Just come off a game where I got flamed for my "retarded cancer pick" "T3 shit tank".
(Warhead. We FP Tass. They Xul/Dehak. We Tyrande Tracer (wutwutwutthefuck? - but it was definitely my Johanna pick that threw the game)).
How do games in HL even start without basic requirements being filled?
-
Correct Healer (don't last pick Uther into Lunara + Malthael tyvm)
-
TANK (no, Artanis is not a main tank)
-
At least two melees
-
NOT THREE ASSASSINS (For real, people who still believe Li Ming/Valla/Sylvanas is too little damage cus there's only 2 assassins and a spec...)
-
Solo Laner
-
Wave clear on wave clear maps (Warhead, Tomb, to name a few)
-
Globals on large maps
-
Some hero with vision or who can anchor
-
Something objective related (poke or race on BOE, poke on TOD, good sustain on Braxis, globals on Warhead)
A draft needs to account for all these things.
OFcourse it's important to play a hero you are comfortable on, but in that case, communicatee your limitations to your teammates.
Hero league draft more than ever feels like a glorified randomizer. Nobody speaks (this is a general issue in the game, and I am pretty sure it has to do with how dumb reporting is) and all of a sudden you end up with a nova main last picking her as a tank with the creative "decoy can tank haha" comment.
Draft matters.
Stop trolling in it.
Ignorance is not bliss.
Negligence is not acceptable. (or at least, it shouldn't me)
What can we, as a community, do to increase understanding and make games a little bit less dumb and random?
