More manga like berserk?
I'll get straight to the point: I love manga/anime that deal with intimately human themes. What I mean is I absolutely adore how Berserk follows the growth of a young orphan who has known nothing but how to be a soldier into a man that is a loving protector for his newfound family. I love how Berserk explores the theme of trauma, such as how sexual assault affected Guts, or how Farnese's childhood influenced her sadistic tendencies.
I know what you might be thinking reading what I've just written: that the example of Guts is just good character development and you can find that in any other manga. Yet, there's something about what Miura puts into his writing that makes you feel like he's really putting his heart into this story.
Another good example of this kind of writing is Tokyo Ghoul (manga) + Tokyo Ghoul:RE. If you've read/are reading those series and are paying attention to the themes being illustrated, you what I mean when I'm referring to beautifully "human" writing, stories that tell us about what it's like to be human, what it's like to deal with trauma, loss, and loneliness.
Hopefully what I've written isn't too painfully vague haha, and someone can refer me to some material I can enjoy because I'm kinda getting tired of constantly rereading Berserk and TG.
