Walking into Whaleys No Reservation?

Anyone have insight on how difficult it is to get a table for two (or bar space) on a weekend night at Whaleys? Considering going tomorrow but only open res is for 5pm and its all the way across town so it'd be nice to know if I'd be wasting my time just showing up.
