Legality of Texas Hold'em

Hi y'all,

Today i tried getting into poker and i was playing online for free and i started to think is it legal to play poker for money in Texas, i read online LE has done raids on underground poker casinos in the past. But what if i just play with my friends for a couple bucks? And how about casinos?

Thanks,

~M
