24 year old with accounting degree really needs some job advice

Employment

I'll try to keep this as short as I can. I'm 24 now. I graduated with a degree in accounting at 22 years old. Right after college I worked at a small CPA firm. After about a year I came back home and I'm currently studying for my CPA exam full time. This path clearly isn't for me. After a little over a year of studying I'm only 2 of 4 exams in and recently didn't pass my third exam. It shouldn't take this long, especially for someone who isn't working and studying full time. Not just this exam but overall accounting and working my last job just makes me miserable. Nothing against my previous employers or the work, but I just couldn't grind through it. I thought I could gut through it but it's just not for me. I think it's time to cut my losses, and start looking for a new job as I only have 20k in savings and a little over 2k in a Roth IRA.

I know an accounting degree can open alot of doors but it's just not for me. The type of work just zones me out and I just become very inefficient at best. I was hoping I could do something that at least would be tolerable and I can gut through, but wasn't exactly "accounting" or "business". I hope I can find something I can really work hard and move up as I want to become very successful. I saw some job openings at Spectrum/Time Warner Cable, another cable provider, and just some other places. I figured at least some of those jobs I wouldn't be glued to a desk all day. I do hope one day I could own a few properties and rent them out, but I know that's far into the future and I need to educate myself more on that (just mentioned that just incase someone thought of a job related to that).

If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear your input. (By the way, I've worked at a restaurant before during college and they said they would let me put them on my resume so I don't have a year+ gap in work).
