Does anyone have any advice or help on how to get subsidized payment for babysitting?

Hi I am new to this group. I babysit for a four year old girl. She is the daughter of a friend of mine. We live in Vermont. The parents both work at night and there are no daycares open past 5. I have been watching her as a favor for my friend, but we all agreed that I should start to get paid. I adore their daughter. But the parents are not rich. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get subsidized payment for babysitting from the government or charities. I talked to the state and they told me that I needed to open a daycare and I have no interest in that. I don't have the space for a daycare. The parents said they would talk to the state.
