RANT: My husband the Omni.
Tonight, my husband and I went for a dinner at a vegan friendly restaurant. He ordered a steak, and I ordered the vegan burger.
We ate happily (and drank) until i mentioned a PETA article (not attacking him in anyway), and my husband decided to share that he read that peta are basically the worst of animal abusers... so I decided to share why I think people love to hate on peta, which sounds something like:
"People love to hate on PETA because they are an organization that constantly make people feel bad about themselves. They ultimately stand for the end of violence towards animals. So many people participate in violence towards animals in ignorant bliss, so when someone tries to push the truth in frount of their faces to where they can't deny it's existence, they feel bad about themselves. People don't like feeling bad, so they hang onto every single piece of information (regardless of checking facts) that comes their way so they can feel less bad... I told my husband a lot of what he was saying was representing PETA views from back 15 years ago... or complete bullshit... so he could feel less bad about the fact he will eat 3 different types of animals in a day for "yum".
The conversation ended in me saying that i can never really respect someone who knows the truth yet still decides to support animal abuse, and that this would ultimately end in our divorce.
He said then divorce me.
I am probably going to divorce him by the end of the year if he doesn't at least show compassion and steps in trying to lessen the animal suffering he causes.
I just can't love someone who would hurt animals.
When I start dating again, I refuse to look at another person who isn't at least a vegetarian. With all the information widely available today, if you are informed yet you still choose to support animal abuse, then you are a bad person. No more excuses.
