Liberals don't respect libertarians because of your opposition to anti-discrimination laws and safety-nets

There is this bizarre notion that libertarians are political chameleons or centrists of some sort, and that libertarians fit in with both sides of the political spectrum. I suppose old-school, traditional Left libertarians might. But these days that is simply not the case. Not even remotely close. Being pro-weed does not make you guys liberal.

Are you guys aware of this? Any remotely aware liberal will IMMEDIATELY recognize libertarians as hardcore right-wingers and nothing else. Believe me, I'm a liberal and I've spent time shitting on you guys for a while. This is what you are to liberals. You guys are conservatives, period. It's why the vast majority of libertarians typically vote Republican and why there is huge Trump support or sympathy within in this sub.

The main reason driving the divide between liberals and libertarians -- beyond significant differences in world view and libertarians complete lack of acknowledgement or understanding of positive rights -- are two huge issues: libertarians are generally opposed to government-funded safety-nets and are also opposed to the Civil Rights Act and anti-discrimination laws. Basically, libertarians don't think the government should step in if charity is insufficient and people should be left to suffer, and libertarians think businesses are allowed to deny basic goods and services to tax-paying citizens based on innate traits.

These are abhorrent positions to liberals. Do you guys understand this? To liberals, this is absolutely inhumane stuff. Monstrous, uncivilized, barbaric positions. Just fucking INSANE. You guys think taxation is evil, whereas liberals find these positions to be evil. This is a non-starter for liberals. In fact, liberals (and minorities) will fight you in the streets before you eradicate safety-nets, anti-discrimination laws or labor laws. That's the reality.

We're so far apart on these issues that it's laughable when libertarians ever even remotely consider themselves as anything beyond right-wing. Even most Republicans don't hold these positions. You're that extreme. You don't have a seat at the table with liberals because you argue things that are barbaric to us.
