New Ledger Nano S setup - should I create a new Bitcoin Cash (Split) Wallet?

I'm pretty new to BTC and trying to transfer my BTC/BCH off Breadwallet to Ledger Nano in a safe, reliable manner. This is a fresh Ledger Nano S.

I currently have my BTC/BCH on Breadwallet. As far as I know, I can't restore a wallet using the private keys created from Breadwallet directly on Ledger Nano S (correct me if I'm wrong). I can however send BCH from Breadwallet to another BCH wallet.

Should I create a Bitcoin Cash Split wallet account on my new Ledger Nano S or is there some better way? Is the Bitcoin Cash Split only for when you had BTC in the Ledger Nano already?
