Question about pricing of fin

I had a dermatologist appointment yesterday and he told me propecia was going to be around $70 a month. I mentioned the 5mg proscar method from the pinned post but he did not recommend me cutting them. However, when I got to the pharmacist I only paid $41 and got 90 1mg pills, so a 3 months supply. Is this common, or did I just get a good deal? It was not covered by insurance.
