Any recourse in Arizona for defective dodge journey 2010 such as Attorney General complaints?

I've read there's been a lot of dodge journey engine failures due to lifter/rockers going bad. My fathers has only 70k miles on it and wants to trade it in. His trusted mechanic cannot tell him exactly what's wrong with it yet but thinks it's engine problem. Before he trades it in, I wondered if filing complaint with attorney general or any other suggestions he may do that may help?
