It's been almost a year now.
Almost a year since I got out of my previous relationship with my LLM partner.
That breakup was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to cope with, but now that it's behind me, I am so glad it's over. All the tears, the loneliness, the nights on the couch... it's done.
I do still miss him on occasion, but any time I start to pine for the past, I only have to think of how wretched our DB was, and I shape up pretty fast.
I didn't realize that that relationship was sucking the life out of me. So much emotional energy wasted on therapy (that he never really participated in anyway), monthly check in chats (that never did any good), attempts at planning dates or scheduling sex (that he never followed through on), nursing the constant ache of rejection from someone who I had once believed loved me. But if you love someone, you don't hurt them like he hurt me.
Just want to celebrate my freedom with a crowd who will understand the pain and the joy of it ending. Free at last. I've had way more sex in this year without him than the year I spent with him, and it feels great to be wanted for once.
