How is Porsche able to make reliable performance vehicles?

On this sub and elsewhere, Porsche is always hailed for their reliability.

My question is how are they able to keep reliability while keeping their vehicles such high performance? Presumably they achieve the extra performance in the usual reliability sacrificing ways, aka higher compression ratios, higher boost pressure, etc, which would typically reduce reliability. But why is Porsche able to keep the reliability while makers such as Jaguar, Ferrari, or even BMW can't achieve?
