My X Max Starry Review!
Hey all! Yesterday I had posted that I had posted that I got my X Max Starry and a few people wanted a review to see how it was!
Disclaimer: This is the first review I have ever done!
This is only the second vape I have ever owned. My first was an X Max V2 Pro, so that's basically how I will be comparing. However, I have used a Grasshopper, Pax 2, Davinci Ascent, and a Flowermate 5.0s.
Size: When I first got the Starry and held it in my hands, I was blown away. This is a picture of the vape compared to X Max v2 Pro. It's so nice and compact! The size is great and feels amazing in the hand. The size is comparable to the Pax 2!
Portable: This vape is incredibly portable, it is super easy to pocket the vape and move around. One of the most annoying thing about the X Max V2 Pro was that if it was in my pocket and I sat down, it would just open up and all the herb would fall in to my pocket. This was more apparent when I had the glass mouth piece. The starry is super comfortable to keep in the pocket (mine was mid-sized) and doing normal functions was fine.
Packing: The size of the bowl is pretty good actually. I think this is a normal grind (still a novice to all of this haha and I did remove the stem!). Now, I don't know how many grams I put in exactly, but 2 pinches was perfect. The chamber is a magnetic top so it was really easy to just open up, pack and close.
Vaping: Vaping with it is amazing. The integrated mouth piece was great. I was vaping the strain White Widow. On the Starry, there is a display that tells you what temperature you are, a battery life estimate, and how much time is left on you 5-minute session. I first started noticing vapor at 365°F, but that was after 4 pulls. Actual vapor came instantly when I decided to increase the temperature to 395°F. The clouds were not as thick as my V2 was though, but still noticeable. After 395°F, I did 5 minutes on 420°F and then finally at 462°F. At the middle of 462°F (Max temp by the way has been 464°F) is when i noticed flavor was horrible and thats where I stopped. It was a great session and I found myself at about [5] or [6]. At the end of 462°F, I checked the bud and this is what the abv was at the end. It was kicked for sure, but there was still come color left! Also that last photo shows a little better of how much was packed.
Smell: Of course all herb vapes smell, but this wasn't too bad compared to the V2 Pro or the Pax 2. Pax 2 was a bit smelly for me and the starry was just fine for me. I was in a small room with an open window and it worked for me and no lingering smell.
Heat: Now this vape does get hot (but only at the top). The magnetic chamber at the top gets decently hot after 1-2 sessions and so does the bottom half of the mouthpiece. So hot that I moved my finger right away when I place it on the top.
Battery: First of all, it uses removable 18650! I loved the removable part because for that size, I was just shocked that I could even replace the battery. One fully charged battery can last six 5 minute sessions, probably seven (it was low at 6 so I just recharged it after).
Cleaning: Super easy! The mouth piece got dirty, but with a slightly damp napkin you can get it cleaned easily. The chamber was super easy. I packed the Starry twice before cleaning and it was super easy. Replace the bottom chamber screen and a q tip with iso (91%) with barely any elbow grease and it was as good as new! There is a screen for the mouth piece to and a simple qtip and iso cleaned it easily. I didn't use the mesh screen for the mouth piece though. The vape didn't clog in my experience.
Conclusion: This vape is amazing. For $90, it would be hard to find a vape this size, on screen display, and replaceable batteries. I love this vape a lot and I am just so happy with this purchase! I would hughly recommend anyone to get this!
I hope I covered everything to give a decent idea of how my first day was with the Starry! Ask anything and if I missed something tell me! Also I apologize for any grammatical errors [4].
Thanks for reading!
