Me and my friend constantly asking ourselves... ''What now?''

So long story short... I play with a friend usually, and we constantly find ourselves in the position of ''What do we do now?''

Im MR. 9 and hes MR. 11, have a few prime frames and weapons... And everything feels unrewarding...

So the question is... what do we focus to improve? Hard stuff like sorties we just get carried by people one shoting everything, and in easy stuff it feels totally unrewarding so... What should we focus to advance in the game?
