How should I manage my liquid cash.
Hi everyone.
We are Making $2050 a month single income. This is after taxes insurance, HSA, and savings of $280 per month. Out of that we were paying $900 a month on mortgage. and the rest on food, bills. Ultimately we had to sell our house instead of living paycheck to paycheck. Fortunately we live in a very up and coming area where the prices of homes were on the rise and growing constantly. It was a here where I've made the decision to sell my home. People here had difficulty believing the market in the area where I live.
Long story short. I was able to sell the house for a lot more money than purchased within 2 years of owning and living in it. So far all the student loans, medical bills and cars are payed off. So we are living debt free. After paying all of that off we have about $35,000 left over.
I'm still making $2050 a month.
$700 - rent $60 - for 2 phones $200 - insurance $100 - misc (baby stuff) $34 - electric $30 - gas $40 - water $350 - grocery $530 - savings
My Fear now is that some how IRS will see it as income and tax the hell out of me. What can I do with my liquid cash?
How can I use my $35,000 wisely?
- Not buying a home anytime soon.
- Not buying a car anytime soon.
- not going on any vacation or anything anytime soon.
- Just don't want to get screwed for going debt free.
