Environmental GIS career advice
Hey GISers. I graduated last summer with a Geography degree/GIS certificate and minor as well as an Environmental Studies minor. I worked a placeholder job as a contractor for Google Maps during the year and just left to travel and i've been gone a month and am about ready to head back home soon.
My question is, what would be the best place to look for an entry level or higher job that will give me the best shot at having a career in the Environmental field? I was thinking about doing Americorp or something along those lines, but it will be very hard to get by on their income and I feel like it won't really be taking advantage of my GIS background as well. Is there a place to look to have the best of both worlds? Thanks for the advice!
edit: especially with our wonderful new prez it seems like i'm entering the job world at exactly the wrong time, with budget cuts, etc. Do you think I should wait out this administration if this is what I want to do long term? Are there actually ENV jobs out there?
