[Chat] Stitching advice vertical lines.

Hi All! I'm new to this and am about to start my third pattern. This one is mostly text with a lot of single stitch width vertical lines. My question is: how do you keep these neat and tidy? Usually I stitch left to right from the bottom left corner up and then back, starting at the bottom of the line. However then for the next stitch up I have to start in a different spot. It seems like there should be a more efficient way to do this!
