Anyone have experience with Steam In-Home Streaming on rMBP not registering mouse clicks?

I've been attempting to use Steam In-Home Streaming on my rMBP (early 2015 - OSX El Cap, i5, Iris Pro, 8GB RAM) for the last few days, and I'm able to get a pretty steady picture streaming from my desktop (Win10, Ryzen 5, RX580, 16GB RAM), but none of the clicks on my rMBP are registering on the desktop (mouse movement and display is fine, however).

I've tried to google online, but the only results are from 2014-2015 when the feature was first announced, and just recommend moving to the Steam beta client. -_-

Tried playing around with the host and client settings in Steam to knock down the resolution/bitrate, and also tried booting Steam and streaming from my Win8 partition, but still had the same issue. It's definitely not lagging, as the mouse moves on my desktop screen whenever I move the trackpad mouse, but the clicks do not register.

Does anyone have suggestions for a fix, or alternately, another way to stream games from a Windows desktop to rMBP? I finally caved and moved to Windows for gaming, but I'd love a way to still use my rMBP to play games while away from the desktop or otherwise.
