SteamOS / Linux + testing times?

I signed up for Alpha testing and I'm just wondering if the game runs on the SteamOS (and therefore Linux). Linux is my main OS but I can boot into Windows as well.

Also, since the game seems to be inherently multiplayer, are there going to be scheduled times when people should be online to test?
